Overall, driving wise, these are the closest ski mountains to Boston. A lot of these resorts are smaller, offering about 30 trails (or less) with mostly intermediate or blue square runs. These make great Boston skiing day trips however, you might become bored if you try and spend a long weekend at one of these places. However, if you are learning to ski/snowboard, these would be great mountains to spend a weekend at. Here are the overall best Boston ski resorts and closest Boston skiing resorts:

Closest Vermont Ski Resorts to Boston
I think all of us east coasters, know that Vermont IS the state with some of the BEST ski resorts (on the east coast). It’s what Vermont is most known for (and it’s maple syrup). Now, personally, I can say, I love skiing in Vermont. I grew up in upstate New York, and I have taken many trips to Vermont for skiing. And I think you will find Vermont to be great as well.
In addition, Vermont has huge ski resorts. ALL of these ski mountains have at least 60 trails or more (many of them have more, closer to 100 trails), thus, these are mountains that you’ll want to spend a long weekend at. Also, a lot of the ski mountains are located at resorts, thus, the resorts offer more than just skiing or snowboarding, if you want to do other things. Also, if you stay in Burlington (I highly recommend), there is a lot to do. Burlington is such a fun town.
