How to Properly Take a Nashville Trip
Nashville, Tennessee (if you don’t already know), is home to country music, honky tonk, the Grand Ole Opry, and much more. It is known for the famous street of broadway, whiskey, and lots of drinking, it’s a super fun city to visit. In this article, you will read a lot about the different bars to go to (popular and local), places to eat, and things to do.
Nashville really is a party/drinking town, so if this is not your vibe, I would not advise going. Also, there are a lot of bachelor and bachelorette parties that visit Nashville. When my friends and I went, we met a ton of bachelor parties there. We did have a ton of fun and I HIGHLY recommend going if you love to party and listen to country music. However, if you don’t like these things, you will not have a good time.

Places to Stay in Nashville : Nashville Hotels & AirBnBs
Okay, there are a lot of places to choose from when staying in Nashville, Tennessee. There are many different hotels that you can find here. However, since these hotels are really close to Broadway (downtown Nashville), they are quite pricey. My friends and I booked an AirBnB and I highly recommend that instead, because the prices are much more reasonable. Here you can find some AirBnBs to stay in or near Downtown (Broadway), Nashville. I recommend staying near or in Downtown Nashville, because it’s so much easier to walk then having to order Ubers.

How to Get to Nashville & Nashville Transit
As far as transportation goes in Nashville, my friends and I flew there because we are from New York and that would have been about a 12 hour road trip. If you want to road trip to Nashville, that could be a really fun idea too. However, I wouldn’t road trip if you live more than 6 hours away. I would definitely fly instead. Round trip, our flight from JFK, New York to Nashville, was a little under 3 hours and it cost about $400. Also, we booked our flights at the end of June and went at the end of August.
Nashville really doesn’t have any public transportation. However, my friends and I never needed a car, as we could walk to everywhere we needed to get to. However, we solely went to Broadway and bar hopped the whole trip. Therefore, if you want to see the Parthenon or the Grand Ole Opry, you will have to drive there. Again, you can Uber there or if you bring your own car you can drive there.
Nashville Must Do’s
Okay, onto the fun part, what to do. If you want to drink, party, and have a good time, then Nashville is definitely the town for you. However, if you don’t intend to drink in Nashville, then I don’t think you’re going to have a good time. It is a BIG drinking town. Most of the fun activities in Nashville for adults is centered around drinking. Also, most of the activities that I will be talking about in this article, center around drinking. Further, I would not bring your kids here either, just because the atmosphere really is all about drinking and partying, especially on Broadway. Most of the places on Broadway are all bars, so again, I don’t think people under 21 would have a good time there.
Okay, with all that being said, if your main goal is to get drunk and party, then Nashville is the perfect city for you! That is the only thing my friends and I did when we were there. We partied all along Broadway, and my only regret, is not going to more local bars. Thus, when I go back I want to go to the bars on 2nd Ave, like Doc Holliday’s Saloon, the Big Jimmy’s, Cerveza Jack’s, Luke Comb’s Category 10, Coyote Ugly Saloon, Freebird, Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottoms Up, Johnny Cash Bar, the District Area, and more bars that you can find here.
Now, I do recommend going out for the night or the afternoon on Broadway. Also, Nashville is known for drinking at any time of the day. If you go out drinking at noon, no one is going to judge you. Because like I said, that is the main thing to do in Nashville, drink and party. Okay, so the bars that I recommend most on Broadway are Tootsies, Whiskey Bent, Miranda Lambert’s, Friend’s in Low Places, Tin Roof, Nudies Honky Tonk, The Stage, Morgan Wallen’s, Jason Aldean’s, Dierks Bentley’s, and Whiskey River.

Nashville Trip Places
Some more fun activities that you can do, that also involve drinking are pedal bike tours, Nashville tractor tour, ride a mechanical bull, and end the night with eating at Cane’s Chicken.
Switching gears a little bit, if you want a break from drinking, here are some fun things to do while sober. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (located in downtown Nashville), see the Ryman Auditorium, Nashville Trolley guided tour, Grand Ole Opry (will need to drive here), visit The Bluebird Cafe (will need to drive to), Parthenon (will also need a car to get to), Nashville Triathlon, and walk around Centennial Park.
Nashville Trip Outfits
This was one of my favorite things to do to prepare for my trip to Nashville. I bought a lot of bell bottoms, cowboy boots, cowboy & tequila shirts, cowboy hats, and different skirts. I did visit Nashville in August, so keep the time of year in mind when creating your outfits. But, that’s why I bought a lot of jean shorts, skirts, and tank tops. I would say that was the main outfit I saw when I went out, either jean shorts, skirts, or bell bottoms with tank tops and cowboy boots. I bought a lot of my outfits from Amazon and Shein (I know this company is not great, but I’m on a budget). If you type into Amazon, Nashville going out tops, or country concerts outfits, many different options will pop up.
Nashville Trip Cost
Alright, if you’re going to drink a lot, it does cost a lot. Standard drink prices for any bars on Broadway are $14 for mix drinks and $12 for beers. If you go to the off-broadway bars, the prices are cheaper. Food prices are pretty standard for any touristy city and same with Uber prices. Per person, for our flight, and share of the AirBnB, we paid $800. There was five of us that went and we spent 4 nights and 5 days there. Now, going out we definitely spent a lot of money on drinks, souvenirs, and food. I would save at least an extra $200 bare minimum for all your spending money when you get to Nashville.
Overall, I had such a good time in Nashville, and I hope you do too if you are planning a trip to Nashville. I hope this article was helpful to you and you learned more of what Nashville is about and how to plan/prepare better for your potential trip. Thank you so much for reading and take care!
