Everything You Need to Know About New England
I have lived in upstate New York for a good portion of my life. A lot of people don’t consider New York a part of New England. However, I do, especially because geographically it is so close to the traditional New England cities. I have visited the top New England cities so many times in Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine. Thus, in this article I will talk about my top/favorite New England cities to visit.
In this article, you will learn all about New England, New England cities, New England clam chowder, New England colonies, Boston, Portland, Newport, Burlington, Salem, and more.
This post is all about New England.
New England :
The New England Colonies : Where/How the Region Started
They were the first colonies that made up America, hence the region name, New England. With Virginia being the first colony in America ruled by Great Britain at the time. Shortly after, Connecticut, Georgia, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, Maryland, and South Carolina became colonies as well. Currently, New England is made up of six different states in the US, which are, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. These states are America’s “older” states and hold a lot of different history to our nation.
New England Today
Today, a lot of the same colonies/states still makeup New England. Some new later add-ons were Vermont and Maine (honorary mention is New York, in my opinion). The Best New England Mountains
Along with great cities, New England has amazing outdoors, specifically mountains. From the Green Mountains in Vermont to the Taconic Mountains and the incredible White Mountains of New Hampshire, you are sure to get your hiking and camping fix from these amazing landscapes. Personally, my favorite are the White and Green Mountains. The White Mountains are truly stunning, especially the 48s, all the peaks are above 4,000ft and let’s not forget about Mount Washington, the tallest mountain in the east. It’s safe to say that the White Mountains hold some of the prettiest peaks in the US. Here are a list of some of my favorite mountain ranges.

- Adirondack Mountains (honorary mention they are located in New York)
