Best Ski Resorts in Colorado Colorado has some of the best ski resorts within the USA. Colorado is probably most well known for its ski resorts in Vail and Aspen. However, Colorado has SO MUCH more to it. Whether you want a ski vacation with your family, friends, or just yourself, Colorado has it all. Here you will find the best ski resorts in Colorado for ALL levels. Vail & Beaver Creek: I HIGHLY recommend taking a free tour to Blue Sky Basin (if going to Vail). This is where all your bowl/wide open skiing will be. Also, Vail has a little ski village next to the mountain. Vail and Beaver Creek are great for all level skiers, and are only about 15 minutes away from each other (driving). Aspen/Snowmass: Is a combination of four different mountains, including the Snowmass Village. Thus, there are plenty of things to do here, and it’s great for all levels. Jay Peak, Vermont: I don’t care what any other east coast ski resort has to say, hands down, Jay Peak is the best. It compares to a lot of places out west with how much average snowfall it gets. It is one HELL of a mountain and has the BEST glades in the east! I was a ski instructor and lived here for a season, so I can honestly say Jay Peak is one of the best.
