What are the Most Crucial Travel Essentials When Traveling?

When we travel there are many necessitates/essentials we need that we sometimes don’t even think about. For example, a passport is SUPER important when traveling, and your boarding pass. But then there are travel essentials that we forget about bringing but are SUPER important when we forget, such as, headphones, a portable charger, chapstick, and many others. So, here is a list I made to find what travel essentials are ESSENTIAL when traveling.

In this post you will learn all about different international travel essentials, a travel essentials list, travel essentials for long flights, different travel essentials toiletries, different travel essentials carry-on, and much more.

Here you will also find what travel essential you are when you travel. This is a fun way to see what kind of personality you show when traveling, so let’s get started to find out what item is your alter ego while traveling!

Travel Essentials:

1. Travel Essentials List : Passport

Now, for traveling internationally, you DEFINITELY NEED a passport. I believe you even need one for traveling domestically in the United States, or at least an enhanced license. Thus, this ins’t really an essential but more of a CRUCIAL document you need, just like your boarding pass. Please, don’t forget either your passport, enhanced license, and boarding pass.

2. Your Phone

Now, I hate to be that annoying millennial, but I think bringing your phone anywhere, in today’s world, is pretty important. Really, just so people have a way to communicate with you, is really why I recommend bringing your phone when you travel.

3. Portable Charger/Adapter

Speaking of phones, this brings me to another essential an item, that must people tend to forget about, a portable charger. There have been multiple times where I have forgotten this item, and have REALLY regretted it. Even just going on day trips to music festivals or hiking, I ALWAYS want a portable charger. So, yes I HIGHLY recommend this. They are pretty inexpensive too, and you can find them at Target, Walmart, and Amazon.

4. Headphones

Now, if you are on a flight, headphones, in my opinion, are ESSENTIAL. Some airlines do offer free headphones, however, they are not the best quality, so I HIGHLY recommend bringing your own. I know a lot of people like AirPods, or a similar version to them or you could bring the beats headphones. However, if you are trying to save space, definitely just bring your AirPods or something similar.

5. Carry – On Backpack or Suitcase

I always like to have both a backpack and suitcase when I travel, typically when I fly. However, make sure if you’re flying, you have the right SIZE. I believe the carry-on limit for bags is and for suitcases it’s . But there are so many different bags to choose from, you’ll find something! These make up great travel essential carry-ons.

6. Deodorant, Portable Toothbrush, Sunscreen, & Chapstick

Now, deodorant and or perfume are great things to have, especially the travel sized deodorant and perfume. You can get roll on perfume that is great and under the fluid ounce limit for airplanes. Skylar is a great, clean, perfume, that you can get travel roll on sizes for perfume. Also, you can get some great portable/small toothbrushes and travel sized toothpaste at Target and or Amazon. Sunscreen is always a good idea to help prevent early aging from the sun. Lastly, NEVER forget the Chapstick!! All of these are great travel essential toiletries.

7. Neck Pillow/Cushion And Or Blanket

I would say the neck pillow/cushion is definitely more of an international travel essentials, whereas the blanket is definitely more of a road trip travel essential. The neck pillows are a great travel essential for long flights because you can just loop them on your backpack, then the blanket you can just throw in the car. Both are great and offer comfort when traveling.

8. Travel Essentials for Women

Now, for all us women, a great way to save space in your carry-on is to bring a reusable menstrual cup instead of a million tampons. Also, you can buy reusable period pads. I bought mine off of Amazon. However, the menstrual cup, I bought from Lunette, which I have loved. I haven’t had to buy period products in almost three years, and it has been fantastic. I highly recommend!

9. Water Bottle, Travel Sized Umbrella & Sunglasses

Now, if you are flying, you will have to bring an empty water bottle or buy one a full one once through security. I’m sure wherever you go, it’s likely you’ll hit some rain, so a little travel sized umbrella is great and will fit right in your carry-on backpack. Even if you travel to somewhere cold, when the sun is out, the glasses should be too!

10. Traveling Cubes

Personally, I haven’t used these yet, but my friends who have, love them. Traveling or packing cubes are a great way to keep your clothes organized while laying in your suitcase. Also, travel capsules are great for your toiletries.
